Signs From Heaven: Little Reminders to Keep Us Going
Life has its way of knocking us off our feet sometimes, doesn’t it? And when we lose someone we love deeply, the world feels quieter, almost hollow. But every now and then, in the middle of all that silence, something extraordinary happens—a sign that gives us hope and reminds us we’re not alone.
Just recently, I had one of those moments, and I wanted to share it because maybe you’ve had similar experiences, too. Maybe you’re wondering, Was that really a sign? Could it be? Let me tell you—those signs are real, and they come at just the right time.
Three Signs in Two Hours
So there I was, stuck in a spiral of wondering whether my late husband still loved me—whether he’d perhaps even go back to loving someone from his past. Grief is funny like that; it brings up insecurities we didn’t expect, questions we can’t answer.
The next morning, I woke up to Michael Jackson’s song “You Are Not Alone” playing in my head. I hadn’t chosen the song, it was just… there. It was a little comforting, but I brushed it off as coincidence.
Then, as if the universe wanted to hammer the point home, the next song that came up—again, without me picking it—was Spring Waltz (Mariage d’Amour) by Chopin. That title alone—Mariage d’Amour (Marriage of Love)—felt so deeply symbolic, a reflection of the bond we shared and continue to share, even now. And it’s not all: Spring is here in Europe, and Chopin was my husband’s ringtone. That detail hit me square in the chest, like he was saying, I’m here with you, in this season, in this moment.
Finally, the third sign was a message from Matt Fraser that I stumbled upon: “We are never alone.” That was the moment I broke down and realized—he still loves me. He’s here, and he’s showing me in every way he can.
What Do These Signs Mean?
If you’ve ever experienced something like this—a song, a butterfly, a phrase, or even just a feeling—you might wonder, How can I tell it’s really a sign? Here’s my take on it:
- It Feels Personal: The sign connects to something deeply meaningful—like my husband’s ringtone or a favorite song. It’s not random; it’s tailored to you.
- It Comes With Comfort: Even if it brings tears, there’s a sense of reassurance, of being watched over and loved.
- It Arrives at the Perfect Time: Just when you need it most, it’s there, like a gentle hand on your shoulder saying, Keep going—you’re not alone.
Praying for More Signs
I’ve decided to lean into these moments, to pray to God and ask for more signs and messages. They keep me going, and I hope they do the same for you. Because when we open our hearts and pay attention, the signs are everywhere—we just have to look.
Have you experienced signs like these? I’d love to hear your stories. Let’s share and remind each other that love doesn’t end—it changes, transforms, and stays with us in ways we can’t always see. 💛
I will read this post repeatedly, as a reminder that I am not alone…
